Family Bellydance Night:

Belly dancing is incredibly empowering & a great workout.  Girls & boys, moms & dads of every size & ability level will have fun in this workshop while building confidence, strength & grace. After a short performance of the movements we are going to work on, Freya will lead you in warm up exercises, followed by learning foundational bellydance moves & short combinations that focus on muscle group isolations, core stabilization, strengthening & lengthening of muscles, sharp & fluid motions, musicality & dance etiquette. At each Family Bellydance workshop we will work on new combinations.  So you can take the workshop again and again and learn something new each time. This workshop is for any fitness level and no prior dance experience is necessary.  This workshop is 1 hour long for families with children 5-9yrs old, it is 2 hours long for families with children 10yrs and up.

Class Attire:

Please come in yoga pants, leggings or other attire that allows full range of motion. Please no overly baggy shirts, baggy pants or long skirts as it’s important for you and the instructor to see your body positions. Also, a scarf or shawl to tie around your hips is helpful to see your hip movements in the mirror. Sparklie bellydance hip scarves will be available for purchase for $10 at the event, but are not required.

Props will be available to borrow in class.  For those who want their own, I will have a limited number of props & hip scarves available for purchase. Previous bellydance experience required.
